In 2014, Volvo Trucks completely revamped the management of routes we had been operating to pick up their staff. The paper ticketing system and selling books of tickets were causing logistical problems, with a delay between employees paying for and receiving their tickets, and complex revenue management.
The Ubitransport solution provides a flexible way of geolocating the buses and allowing people to top up their account on board or remotely, using a contactless card system. The solution also met the new requirements, with a guarantee of better punctuality and ridership information. The solution was simple to implement. Ubitransport and Keolis Val de Saône went out to geolocate the stops using 2Stop. They then configured the routes and pricing system. The system was up and running in three months.
