The Nouvelle Aquitaine region has chosen Ubitransport
TO OFFER NEW SERVICES AND SECURE ITS SCHOOL TRANSPORT
In order to offer new services to families (the location of buses in real-time, information on whether the bus has already left, etc.), the Nouvelle Aquitaine Region has decided to purchase a connected ticketing service from Ubitransport through the CATP and issue interoperable Modalis cards to its 150,000 students.
The Nouvelle-Aquitaine region is the first in France, in terms of number of departments, to equip all its school transport network with a connected ticketing system.
An XXL project : 150,000 pupils, 3,000 buses and 10 departments involved
10 out of 12 departments in the region will benefit from the 2School school transport management solution as the other two departments are already equipped (Vienne and Gironde).
All 10 departments will be operational at the beginning of the 2022 school year. This large-scale project, implemented by Ubitransport in record time, has been backed by funding from the European Union.
As is the case for Ubitransport’s regional clients, the 2School solution is adapted to work with the Nouvelle-Aquitaine regional transport card, Modalis, which will be made available to pupils.
Students can use their card on school buses and on intercity buses outside school hours.
In total, almost 3,000 school buses are equipped with a validator and a smartphone and 150,000 pupils will be transported.
Régions trust Ubitransport
Alongside the Nouvelle Aquitaine region, 8 of the 13 regions in France as well as the French overseas Martinique region have put their trust in Ubitransport, the French leader in connected ticketing in terms of number of networks.
Ubitransport also equips the networks of Saintes, Agen, Cognac, Périgueux, Pau, Châtellerault, Marmande and the shuttle to the Ile de Ré in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region.
To better support its clients, Ubitransport has hired a project manager based in Bordeaux. In the future, the Mâcon-based start-up wants to increase its presence in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region and is actively working on new, large-scale tenders.
