Matawan is especially active within the French Tech. Let’s take a brief look at our latest highlights.

Matawan, member of French Tech 120

In 2022, Matawan (formerly Ubitransport) cemented its place in French Tech 120, a French government support programme dedicated to start-ups, which have the potential of becoming world-class technology leaders. Selection criteria include new commitments in terms of parity, inclusion and ecological transition.

The high-impact scale-up intends to rely on this government programme to accelerate and strengthen its position in the mobility sector.

"Such recognition at the highest level of government is a reward for all the hard work our teams carry out on a daily basis on behalf of our clients and partners. We are actively working to build the mobility of tomorrow in order to streamline the user journey and support major digital, ecological and societal transitions"

Jérôme Tredan, CEO Matawan.

Presidency of the new French Tech Bourgogne-Franche-Comté

Jean-Paul Medioni, founder and chairman of Matawan (formerly Ubitransport) is taking over as president of the French Tech Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, the latest French Tech Capital approved by Jean-Noël Barrot, Deputy Minister for Digital Transition and Telecommunications.

This 3-year label highlights how dynamic the region’s tech ecosystem is. The role of this French Tech Capital will be to lead and ensure the continuity of Mission French Tech’s activities in the region as well as address local issues. French Tech Bourgogne-Franche-Comté is one of 16 Capitals to receive this label.

Alongside Dijon, Besançon, Nevers and Belfort/Montbéliard, Mâcon has become one of the region’s 5 French Tech “totem” sites to support and implement French Tech initiatives.

"We are proud to see French Tech Bourgogne-Franche-Comté achieve Capital status. Engaging local players is key to raise the profile of our region, support our start-ups, promote innovative, sustainable projects, and move forward collectively"

Jean-Paul Medioni, President of the French Tech Bourgogne-Franche-Comté and founder and chairman of Matawan.

Signing the French Tech Parity Pact

In 2022, Matawan signed the French Tech Mission’s Parity Pact, which is committed to promoting gender equality and diversity within start-ups.

Our scale-up is committed to achieving a minimum threshold of women on the board, training managers in diversity, discrimination and harassment issues, and providing specific support when employees return from parental leave.
